You will never be forgotten. Thank you for welcoming me to Germany as my neighbor and friend. You and Wolfgang became my family away from home. I will never forget your patience, kindness, and love. I am sorry that my German never seemed to improve, but I am forever appreciative of the conversation we shared slowly, patiently, and whole-heartedly at your kitchen table with a translation book. I know that you are at peace and reunited with your life partner. I am grateful to have known you and your family during my time overseas.
